Andreas captured the interest of the class when he showed them a science experiment with balloons to explain conduction.
Insects outside
Which insects can we find in the school yard? We were out to investigate. The children found many more than they expected. 
Butterfly life: the larvae
The children were very excited about our project with butterflies. Watching the larva grow has been fascinating.
The children gave their larva names. They examined larva food. The larva spends its time eating and growing. Everyday this week the children have noticed something new about the larva. At the end of the week, some have started spinning webs.

Butterfly theme
We had an introduction to our butterfly theme this week with all three classes watching short documentaries on insects in the Aula. 
This was followed by a brain storming session in class: what do we want to learn about butterflies?
There were many points. To end the lesson, everyone drew what they thought a butterfly looked like and the parts. Cute!

Author visit: Ulf Sindt
The children have been reading/working with books by Ulf Sindt in preparation for his visit. And his visit was absolutely wonderful. He totally entranced the children with his stories. Not only did he tell the children about the books he had written, he told them stories from his childhood, and gave an insight into the books to come.
The children were hanging onto each word Ulf Sindt uttered.
The children were very inspired by Ulf's visit and sat and wrote their own stories and read them out. 
News period
Doing presentations in front of a class is never as easy as it sounds. We have come a long way.
